April 5th - THE BEST OF THE SURFPHONY OF DERSTRUCTION

ya know, I gotta start this post off with a little somethin'...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOOOO! WHAT A FUNKIN' AWESOME SHOW!! Dave Konstantino of Revolution Rock and Chris Crossroads of Deliverance dropped by to hang ten with the 60-Minute Maniac, THE BIG DERBOSKI, Derk Brigante, to celebrate! WHAT FOR? There's a reason I call myself the best there was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be, because I AM. 2011 CJAM'S VOLUNTEER OF THE DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG YEAR! WOOOOOOOOO! So, I figured, as my first episode as CHAMPION, I would play my favorite tracks from the shows gone by, as well as a couple chosen out by BIG DAVE

ARTIST SONG TITLE
the surfaris bombora
takeshi terauchi journey to the stars
the sadies the hi-jinx
the ramonetures she's the one
the blue demons moondawg
the revelairs cruel sea
the surfdusters riptide
the rhythm surfers 502 (like getting piched on a 502)
shadowy men on a shadowy planet misogomy and the object
the gruesomes whirlpool
urban surf kings phantom riders of the backlot
shadowy men on a shadowy planet popcorn
lost patrol commanche
the nobles earthquake
dick dale the victor
mr gasser and the weirdos BIG BAD SURFINK!!

This show was fun as hell to do! It was a good time having Dave and Chris in but I kept getting distracted, hahaha! So, a lot of tracks were picked at the very last second but that doesn't matter because it all sounded OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH SO GOOD!!

I finally found a decent version of Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet's Popcorn and I was very excited to play it for all the great listeners tuned in!

Here's the number that we started the show off with: The Original Surfaris with BOMBORA

MArch 1st

Hello there finks! This week's Surfphony of Derstruction fell again on the first of the month! KOOL! Just the same ol' surfin' time we had this week with a few special songs courtesy of the Cruis'n' USA soundtrack. Originally released in 1994, Cruis'n' USA was all about racing through different U.S. locales with some really sweet music! A couple of Surf tracks, some bluegrass boogie and even a wacky techno track makes Cruis'n' USA one of my favorite game soundtracks. I've posted a couple of videos of the soundtrack below. DIG IT

artist song
cruis'n' USA deadwood ride
the modelos curse of the cowboy
kai winding hero
the goldtones STRIKE!
mr gasser and the weirdos T.J.T.

Deadwood Ride, the first track played on this episode of the BIG SURF:

Surfari Monster, which closed out the show:

Tune in to The Surfphony of Derstruction next week to hear some more Cruis'n' USA tracks and some more sweet SUUUUUUUURF

February 22nd: I FELL IN LOVE WITH A SURFINK!

HELLOOOOOOOOOOO FINKS!!! It's good to be back, wooooo! What a great show this was! I really enjoyed it! The name of tonight's theme was "I Fell in Love with a Surfink!" and it was all about the lovey-dovey, sentimental-type kinda surf, ya dig! It was all sappy and stuff, hahah! In a upbeat sorta way though!

HERE, dig what we had to play!

artist song

los straitjackets close to champaign
takeshi terauchi stardust
atomic 7 mimi, queen of bathurst
the huntington cads sweethearts theme

Don't forget to tack on Los Straitjackets' "University Blvd." on to that! I didn't have time to list that song. Anyways, on to some videooooooooooos

Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet's cover of The Beach Boy's "In My Room". (I wasn't aware this was a cover until now! geeze!"
